Welcome to the Southeastern Line Constructors Chapter, National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA), an organization that has been representing contractors in the electrical industry since 1955 encompassing nine states throughout the Southeast, as well as the US Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.
This Chapter fills a distinctive function in the outside electrical construction industry by representing its member contractors in the collective bargaining process. We are committed to providing our members with inclusive and unsurpassed professional support.

JULY 2026 WINNER:
Theme: America’s 250th: Proud to Power the Nation
Congratulations to Eddie Gibbons, whose photo was selected as the winner of our July Line Life Photo Challenge!
Taken at Eglin Air Force Base, the photo captures a crew performing energized work while changing out a dead-end structure near the end of the runway. Fighter jets flew overhead throughout the day as the crew worked below, creating a powerful image of the men and women who keep our nation powered alongside those who help protect it.

JUNE 2026 WINNER:
Theme: The View From Up Here
Congratulations to Matt Coker of MLC Photo Video, whose photo, "Transmission Lineman Ties a Knot," was selected as the winner of our June Line Life Photo Challenge!
Captured approximately 80 feet above the ground, this image offers a perspective few people ever get to experience. With two linemen already in the bucket, Matt mounted a small action camera to a lineman's hard hat to capture a unique point of view without interfering with the crew's work.
The photo was taken during a major 14.1-mile transmission rebuild where Service Electric crews upgraded conductors and insulators while replacing 60 concrete H-frame structures with 160-foot steel monopoles. One of the project's biggest challenges was safely crossing I-75, requiring coordinated rolling roadblocks with assistance from state troopers.

Theme: Proud to Serve the Line
This month's winning photo was submitted by Crystal Thurman on behalf of her husband and was taken in Chicago during a tribute to a fallen lineman. The image captures a powerful symbol of patriotism, brotherhood, and remembrance.
At the time, Crystal's husband was serving as the General Foreman on the project. The tribute served as a reminder of the risks lineworkers face every day while keeping the lights on and communities connected.

Eddie Gibbons is a SELCAT graduate and Journeyman Lineman with Local 222. He captured this photo while working as a General Foreman in California, highlighting the dedication of lineworkers who get the job done in all weather conditions.
